On Tuesday, February 9th, Mitchell students celebrate the Lunar New Year with a culturally festive school assembly. After an informational presentation on Tet and the many different customs associated with the holiday, traditional lion dancers performed for the crowd which included students, staff and parents. A good time was had by all. Students returned to their classrooms to receive the customary red envelopes that held a New Years wish. Envelopes also contained either Super Stars, a coupon for free ice cream, or a lucky two dollar bill. Thank you to the many parents who brought in food for the staff to eat.
